Sometimes Unity can be a huge pain to work with.
Its especially weak when it comes to 2D and 2.5D game development.
When we started building Meow Meow Wizard Arena, we KNEW that a huge selling point of the game would be the ability to customize your cat and make it wear silly costumes.
But the built in Spriteswap tool in Unity was being really unhelpful in that area.
It required us to manually drag and drop every single frame of every new asset into the appropriate animation category ONE BY ONE.
Since our cat has 100 frames, this meant that we would have to individually drag and drop 100 sprites in the editor without getting lost in the spritesheet and without making a mistake. Though this process only took 5 minutes max( if executed without mistakes), IT WAS A WASTED 5 MINUTES AND EVERY SECOND OF IT WAS ABSOLUTE AGONY. Like. WHY THE HECK IS THIS SO MANUAL? WHY DOES UNITY DO THIS TO US? Dude JUST LET ME DRAG AND DROP ALL 100 FRAMES IN 1 SHOT. HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE TIME TO IMPLEMENT THAT?

SO. IN OUR ANGER AND FRUSTRATION, WE BUILT OUR OWN SOLUTION.
100 frames. One drag. Boom. Done. MASSIVE SIGH OF RELIEF.
Now every new Item we create only takes a moment and zero focus to create.

Its still not perfect, and I am sure there are corner cases and bugs that linger here and there. We also had to work around Unity's built in limitations with its 2D system. But. sigh. It gets the job done.
